TRANSPORTATION

CAR PARKING

The car park at the front of the building belongs to the neighbouring apartments, however there are often many spaces available.  Claggan Road, just round to the right-hand side of the apartments has large parking bays where you can also park your car for free during your visit.

There is car parking in the town centre and close to the train station at reasonable cost.  Any free carparking is probably restricted to a couple of hours and a purchase from Morrison’s.  Please find below a link to car parking in town:

BUSES

The bus terminal is next to the train station, under a mile from the apartments in the town centre.  There are buses which pass in front of the apartments taking you to Inverness, Mallaig, Nevis Range…There is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road to the apartments in front of the Nevis Bank Inn.  I will try to keep the updated bus timetables available in the rooms and on the website.  Please also check www.shielbuses.co.uk

TRAINS

The train station is less than a mile’s walk into town.  Many of our guests visit Fort William to experience the Jacobite Train journey to Mallaig, passing over the Glenfinnan Viaduct (shown above) made famous from the Harry Potter films, however these tickets usually need to be booked well in advance.  There are often tickets available first thing in the morning if you are first in line at the ticket office.  If you don’t manage this, there are normal Scotrail trains at a lower cost which follow the same beautiful breath-taking journey.  Just enquire at the ticket office.
